How-to guide
Starting on October 1st 2022, Microsoft will begin disabling basic authentication for O365, which will cause your Meetio devices to lose connection to their calendars. You need to switch to modern authentication (oAuth) in order to prevent this from happening.
You can read Microsoft’s announcement regarding this here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/deprecation-of-basic-authentication-exchange-online
How to make your devices use oAuth instead:
Login to Meetio Admin (https://admin.getmeetio.com) with your administrator account.
You need to ensure that all your devices are up to date. This is because we have a minimum requirement of 2.5.0 for Meetio Room and 2.4.0 for Meetio View in order to use oAuth.
Update any devices that need it, and delete any old devices that are not still in use.
Next, go to “Connections” in Meetio Admin (https://admin.getmeetio.com/connections).
Click New connection -> Office 365 -> Modern authentication -> Authenticate.
You will now receive a pop-up to login to O365. Login here with the same service account credentials that you were using before.
(If you do not see the account listed here, click “Use other account” and log in manually with the service account).
Approve the access to your service account
If you used the same service account as before, Meetio Admin will now ask you if you want to migrate your rooms to use the new OAuth connection instead. Click “Yes, Transfer!”
That’s it, you are now done and your devices are good to go!
